AGA produce not only gas, but is one of the world’s leading developer of industrial technologies where heat and combustion – produced by gas – is vital to the process. One of these techniques is the DFI, direct flame impingement, where it heats up the metal strip by directing a burning flame directly onto the strip. By building out the client’s existing furnace and adding a turbo effect of heating, other processes such as surface cleaning and partial oxidation to be added.
Before the experimentation furnace was fitted with cut specimens more or less manually and when they wanted a more efficient and more accurate picture of the process, the choice fell on Camcoils reeling system with a de- and recoiler.
We develop world-leading technologies and need to have good equipment, says Bo Sundelin at AGA’s development department.
Camcoils reeling system has been in operation since February 2011.
– And it does what it should, says Bo Sundelin.
In order to easily be able to move the entire plant when the space will be used for other experiments, the reeling system was constructed on two separate base frames.
